Global Press Release:
Wordeee Publishes Memoir by Pauline Neri Shaver, the Founder of The Angelus

NEW YORK - Nov. 12, 2025 - PRLog -- Wordeee (www.wordeee.com) is proud to announce the publication of A Place to Live, to Love, to Learn: A Memoir of the Founding of The Angelus by Pauline Neri Shaver.

Pauline Neri Shaver, a lifelong advocate for individuals with disabilities, built The Angelus from humble beginnings into a cornerstone of care and compassion in Florida. Founded in 1979, The Angelus has been a place of dignity, love, and lifelong care for children and adults with physical disabilities. From its humble beginnings at Pauline's kitchen table to becoming a beloved institution supported by countless families and advocates, the story of The Angelus is one of resilience and the power of community. The memoir also shares how Pauline's vision drew lifelong supporters, including country music legend Charlie Daniels.

Known for his generous spirit and the way he connected with everyone at The Angelus, Daniels inspired the entire community to come together. Fundraising concerts, weekend visits, and hands-on help from architects, masons, local laborers—even inmates doing community service—led to the building of Charlie's Lodge. Today, the Lodge welcomes residents and their loved ones, standing as a testament not just to one man's generosity, but to how his big heart united a community in support of The Angelus. In this heartfelt memoir, co-authored with artist and writer Perri Neri, Pauline shares her journey, the sacrifices made to create a safe haven for others, and the community that unconditionally helped her transform a kitchen-table dream into a sanctuary recognized throughout the state of Florida and beyond.

Wordeee CEO Marva Allen stated," A Place to Live, to Love, to Learn: A Memoir of the Founding of The Angelus is not just a memoir—it is a love letter to the power of purpose, the miracle of human connection, and the quiet revolutions sparked by everyday courage. Pauline's legacy stands as a powerful example of what it means to live a life of service to humanity. This book will resonate deeply with readers drawn to human-interest stories, caregiving journeys and the belief in others as well as those who know Pauline Neri Shaver and her work."

WORDEEE INTERVIEW “Words With Our Authors,” with PAULINE NERI SHAVER AND PERRI NERI

Q: Collaborating on a manuscript is a unique journey but doing so as mother and daughter adds another layer to the experience. What were some of the challenges and unexpected benefits of working together on A Place to Live, to Love, to Learn: A Memoir of the Founding of The Angelus, especially given your close personal relationship?
A: Pauline: Working with my daughter, Perri, on the book was such a blessing. We developed a strong trust in one another and were able to communicate honestly about sections we were working on...no fear of criticism. Since The Angelus is a facility for non-ambulatory individuals with developmental disabilities, we had to be concerned with HIPAA Rules and Compliance and Perri was able to reword various passages without compromising the story.  We had good communication with each other even when we were 1,400 miles apart! Perri‘s computer skills are such that she is able to understand and implement strategies that are foreign to me.
A: Perri: Working on this book together was a little bit like family life itself—rewarding, complicated, and full of surprises. One of the biggest challenges was learning how to blend our two voices. My mom lived these stories and carried the details in her bones. I wanted to shape them in a way resonated with readers who didn’t know The Angelus. It was also important to me to connect the reader emotionally with what my mom was facing and feeling around both the difficult situations and the joyous ones. She resisted at first, wanting the spotlight on everyone else. I pushed for the feelings behind the stories.
That tension forced us to slow down, be patient, and trust each other. And in time, mother and daughter became collaborators. We found our rhythm.  She would recall the facts, I would ask about the feelings, and together we built a fuller story about The Angelus, yes, but also about my mother. The unexpected benefits far outweighed the bumps. We laughed a lot, cried a little, and revisited parts of our family’s history we might never have touched on our own. In the end, it wasn’t just about finishing a manuscript. It was about sharing an experience that brought us closer together and left us both proud of what we created.

The love for this memoir is already growing!
Here’s what early readers are saying!
