I was asked to donate a piece for an auction supporting BELLADONNA* COLLABORATIVE. Their mission is "to promote the work of women writers who are adventurous, experimental, politically involved, multi-form, multicultural, multi-gendered, impossible to define, delicious to talk ab out, unpredictable and dangerous with language."
I thought this drawing would be a good piece to donate, but I did not have a title yet. Then it hit me, maybe the writer community at BELLADONNA* would be interested in titling it! My work has a strong narrative quality and I always try to title them with that in mind, keeping it intriguing and open to interpretation. I am thrilled to tell you that Rachel Levitsky, founder of BELLADONNA* has agreed to take on the task!
The auction will be sometime in October, with a date not quite yet set. I will keep you all informed as soon as the details have been nailed down.
In the meantime, please check out www.belladonnaseries.org and learn about this amazing organization that started as a reading and salon series at Bluestocking's Women's Bookstore on New York City's Lower East Side. 2016 marks their 17th anniversary!
