Sometimes a painting just comes together with ease, and sometimes the canvas gets too "precious", overworked with paint and ideas. It's okay. It is actually more than okay because it is an opportunity find resolution with the paint, through the act of painting. As opposed to relying on the techniques of portraiture, for example, to push a narrative. I want to force an emotion, not a story that may or may not evoke that emotion. So here we go.
